The Harvard Crimson: The Harvard Crimson :: News :: Student Arrested for Quad Break-In

  • Will · 1 year ago
Harvard students are hella weird. Stanford students already kinda had the suspicion but I didn't know it was that bad.

You guys just might be experiencing the symptoms resulting from a lack of sunshine and prevalent unhappiness.

it is so rude to publish this student's name. it's disgraceful that the Crimson would go out of its way to shame a fellow student who had a drunken escapade.

I like the professor's response. Very funny in light of this mess.

Is this a parody? A joke? Ec 10 is an intro class, no? And the suspect is in the class of '09? Also, if it were real, wouldn't journalistic ethics lead them not to publish the suspect's name? More importantly, does this whole thing not smack of parody? Breaking and entering to discuss a P-set? I mean, everyone here's been frenzied the night before a P-set's due, but that seems a little unlikely, even for us.

Don't you stanford kids have something better to do with all that sunshine and happiness than read our newspaper?

"annoying and accosting a person of the opposite sex" is a crime? why the last part?

    Agree with Nico.

Luckily this kid's name and surname are not unique enough to completely 'google-bomb' him... but either way, let's have a little compassion for our fellow students rather than laugh at their mistakes in public.

Another point directed towards the Crimson staff for letting the kid's name go into print: if this behavior were the first signs of emerging schizophrenia (I'm NOT saying that it is - just that it could be), you'd have done a terrible thing to someone much more in need of help than ridicule. Putting the name in accomplishes nothing for the story.

    Nico,

I don't think it's rude or inappropriate to publish the student's name. He is above the age of 18, one would guess, and was arrested for doing some potentially dangerous things (even if you do see others as being harmless and humorous). He may have been drunk, or under the influence of drugs, but this is unclear. Hopefully, if announced, it will be added to clarify why he showed such erratic behavior, although this would not excuse it. Simply, put, while it tarnishes his name, as a female, I could care less about it being 'rude' and more concerned about being able to identify a student who engaged in behaviors like this (i.e., lying in the female's bed and touching her body), even *if* under the influence.

Granted, I would also like to know how people enter random students room so easily while they're in bed (apparently they didn't know him). There is something to be said for locking doors or not answering them late at night if you don't know the person.

What a perfect way to ruin any hard work you've put in for the past 8 years of college and high school.

wow.. that is the weirdest thing ever.

plus he was drinking too. Man, I just found this guy on facebook . I would not mind drinking with some of you harvard guys..weird reaction to alcohol. I hope the girls drop the charges and lessen his trouble. The guy was obviously under some alcoholic reaction. Wow, all the best to him though.

You DO go to Stanford (hella). And I definitely think you're onto something. I'm from California...considered Stanford, chose Harvard. It's so cold here that you would think sunshine means warm, so you stand there...but its just as cold, if not colder, when the sun is shining!!! So strange and so cold.

He must have gone nuts. =P
